There is no sharks slaughter in the Red Sea and the very idea of a boycott is absurd !
Our association, Longitude 181 Nature, insists on categorically denying rumors and emails pretending that Egyptian authorities would have closed diving zones (St John's reef), where a longimane shark has been involved In a fatal accident, in order to exterminate sharks on this site.
We have asked our ambassador centers promoting the International guidelines for responsible diver in the Red Sea and all of them have categorically denied this absurd gossip.
Egyptian authorities, as HEPCA (Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association, an NGO which aims to protect marine environment in the Red Sea, have simply and rightly requested more discipline to everyone !
If nobody should be afraid to diving with sharks, and to allow each encounter with them to be an intense joy, it is necessary to respect them and to keep in mind they are wonderful and very strong but wild animals.
We are supporting all our diving centers in the Red Sea, especially Anthias Plongée, because they all are enthusiast professionals who are doing their best to let each of the divers discover a submarine world, where animals are not strange-looking creatures but animals still living free.
You are warmly invited to discover with them the marine environment of the Red sea and its interesting underwater life.
You will find the list of these responsible diving centers on this site, in the folder Diving centers - centers list .
Enjoy your diving sessions with them.
